This week was a review week. In addition to reviewing elements of poetry and some specific language skills such as plural nouns, linking verbs, pronouns I and me, and conjunctions, we reviewed word analysis. Word analysis is the ability to break words down into their parts (prefixes, root words, suffixes) to understand the meaning of a word, spell a word, or pronounce a word. Word analysis skills are super important for being a great reader!
We recently celebrated our first 9-week ceremony. During the ceremony, students on all A honor roll, A/B honor roll, perfect attendance, and positive referrals were recognized. Congratulations to those students!!!
In addition, we recognized two of our students for showing us the "Hippo Way". Kayla received an accolade for the Hippo trait of respect. Rayshad received an accolade for the Hippo trait of responsibility. Great job, kiddos!!!
